Hi, I'm Bob. I love helping students become professionals, helping professionals become leaders, and helping leaders achieve transformational growth for their companies. Everything we do at IMPACT is to help create heroes, grow businesses, and change lives. If there's anything I can do to help you, please let me know, always happy to chat. :)
If you haven't experienced this problem, you will, and it's coming. Hopefully, you can prepare for it. I wasn't and I am dealing with it now. Or maybe you've gone through it and you can provide me some additional consult.

Let me explain.

We started our relationship with Marcus over 3 1/2 years ago and have continued strengthening our content strategy with the rest of the iMPACT team the last few years. We have been so successful at what we've been taught. When I say successful, I mean we are seeing the results that all of you have been seeing if you've implemented what you've been taught. Yes, we have seen our traffic explode with our content ranking, more qualified leads coming in, building a better relationship with our sales team by... See More

Yo yo yo!

First, this problem beats the alternative, right? But as my friend Ari Weinzeig says, "Success means you get better problems." (link)

Okay - so here are some ideas you may want to consider...

1. With a giant backlog of content needs, can you start with a "backlog grooming" session where you do a "Keep, combine, kill" activity? This was introduced in the book Traction and how a management team is supposed to prioritize their issues list. Maybe you can combine a few topics into fewer content pieces, maybe that gets your list down 30-40%, and maybe there are some topics that you say "okay, that's a nice to have and not a need to have" so you kill it.

2. Expand the team - Marissa is awesome and is killing it. Maybe it's time to bring on a second writer, an entry-level journalist, to work with Marissa. Freelancers are another option but I'm not sure you'll be happy with the end result.
Hi all!

I'm Elle, a new member of the IMPACT+ community and the new digital marketing and content manager for Enrollment Builders. I made a short video introducing myself and sharing some tips that helped me during my recent onboarding experience. My supervisor is a member of the IMPACT+ community and this community shaped some of my onboarding experience. I can't thank everyone enough for helping to make my onboarding at Enrollment Builders great!

Hero in the making!
Perhaps there’s many ways (I’d be in that boat as well) but what’s one thing that looking back to when you started on IMPACT+ you go, “wow, [insert year before joining] me wouldn’t have done that or recognize 2021 me.” In my case, I’ve noticed that IMPACT+ has helped me define the type of marketer I am, the type of marketer I want to be, and given me the confidence to go boldly forth in that direction. While that may seem broad, it’s permeated my professional life. A prime example is what I’m doing right now: I perhaps didn’t have the level of confidence before to start a conversation like this, share my thoughts on a subject, or weigh in to help others. 2021 Adam is more engaged and active in professional communities now which has... I've been a bit busier with essentially a second company to run. ;)

We're all really proud of you, Adam! Keep going on your journey of becoming a digital sales and marketing superhero!
Hello!
I just hired our first Content Manager at Enrollment Builders and I am SOOO excited for her to get started here. https://www.enrollmentbuilders.com/careers-content-digital-marketing-manager

What are the top 3 things you wish your boss/company had done for you when you got started to make you more successful? I want to make sure she is able to reach her potential here! : )

Also, given all of our Impact's opportunities, what do YOU feel is the best way to introduce her to what is here and get her involved?

Hey Jennifer! We talk a lot about onboarding here at IMPACT, it's so important to setting the new hire up for long term success. We focus on culture, skills, and processes.

For culture, we have 8 core values and we want to be very clear within the first few days what our core values mean and what looks like to bring these values to life. There's a great book called No Rules Rules which is about Netflix's culture, and luckily for us, it's the exact culture we're trying to build here at IMPACT, so we have every new hire read that book in their first week.

For skills - it's important to reverse engineer what success in the role would look like and what's the 4-8 best resources you want the new hire consuming in their first 4 weeks. For a content manager, I would recommend our courses here at IMPACT+, TAYA, The Visual Sale, and various HubSpot certifications. It's also important to set up activities for each resource to ensure the new hire truly understands the material and is able to successfully apply it.

For process - we do a 4-hour fully immersive meeting between the manager and new hire starting their second week. This time is used to go through literally every nook and cranny of the job. It takes the manager time to prepare a document to guide the meeting beforehand, but it becomes a valuable tool for the new hire over their first 3 months. We include everything in this doc - who's on the team and how they'll be working with them, the software/tools we use, the data we track, the workflow... anything and everything we can possibly think of.

Last thought - new hires absorb more in the hiring process and their first few weeks on the job than they will once they get up and going. This time is precious. Make sure you plan out every minute of their first 4 weeks, so come week 5, they're operating as if they've been in the job for 2 years.

Hope this helps!
Hey folks, I'm new to HubSpot and the world of content marketing. That said, I was very excited to subscribe and adopt the approach. Right off the bat I'm lost and as the champion, that's not good. How did you get started? How long did it take? Did you have to use a consultant to get going
Thanks for your input See More

Hey  Jack McMahan - Probably more of a conversation than just a response here, but yes - it sounds like more clear direction on how to adopt HubSpot at the start is needed. I'm happy to hop on a call with you, and I'm sure  Carina Duffy  would as well to help get you started.
It is not surprising to me that after a great day of training, you've already blown my mind again.

I wish I'd taken the time to visit this portal months ago. It is exactly how I SHOULD HAVE had my dev team setup our dealer portal.

Kudos to you IMPACTers, this is a fantastic tool I will be pushing to my team shortly. See More
