I'm the Member Success Manager at IMPACT+. I'm an innovator at heart, always bringing new ideas to the table and challenging the norm to find better solutions. If you ask me, I combine my passions for education and marketing to empower others to meet their business and revenue goals and loves building unforgettable experiences through ground-breaking industry events and engaged, passionate communities. In my free time, you will find me watching the Yankees game, reading a new book, or out on a dirt trail on my next adventure!
When it comes to writing They Ask, You Answer content, I've always been told to make sure the titles (and the goal) of your article are really specific to the audience and what questions they are looking to have answered.

I began working on the article above with the title What are the benefits of IMPACT+ for small businesses, and as I was drafting it, Paul D. Grant and I realized that the purpose of this article was not how great IMPACT+ is for small businesses (but hey, isn't it ), it was about how the platform can help our audience implement They Ask, You Answer.

So, we shifted our title and our greater strategy for the piece to focus on what our audience was looking for: Support in implementing They Ask, You Answer.

It was a subtle... See More
Can you believe it? We're almost halfway through Q3 2021.

With that in mind, what's one thing that you're focusing on as we approach the downhill slide into Q4 or the end game of 2021?

Consider this as a save point/check point where you can pause and define that focus if the fact that we're 3/4 through the year was a rude awakening.

My major focus for the rest of Q3 is doubling down on my education. Courses, certifications, talks, seminars - I'm digging deep into them again because I personally saw great benefits the last time I put education on the front burner.

With World Certification Week currently happening, your focus seems right on the mark Adam Stahl !

Mine is definitely around data management and structure to allow our team to be more actionable across all aspects of the organization. Not only educating myself on the power of or best practices with data, but also learning the tools and software we use more intentionally.

Alyssa O'Mara , Dale Pease Keven Ellison , Jay Rossi , Jim Schultz , Phil Switzer , Tony Paille , Lex Russell , Mary Steffl , Kaitlyn Pintarich , how about you all?
I am looking for a simple bot to handle my FAQs on a Squarespace site. The Squarespace search function is very clumsy and inconvenient. See More
Connor DeLaney
Gordon Hunte you are looking for something to automatically handle this, sort of like a knowledge base? I'm curious if just having an FAQ's section on your main page or pages would do the trick here vs investing in a bot?

I know  Jessica Palmeri just put out a course on implementing live chat, not sure if it's exactly what you need but perhaps you can chime in a bit on this, Jess?

I also know  Mary Brown or  Emily Mermell  may have some additional recommendations from the website side.
Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have any thoughts on Vidyard vs Vimeo? We are just starting our video journey and would probably start on basic plans for either. We don't like the Vidyard ad in the free version either. Hoping we don't have to have it if we pay for Pro. We just need a clean way for our sales team to send out videos to prospects, know if they at least started watching a video, and have the ability to trigger a workflow in HubSpot from that event.

Thanks! See More
Connor DeLaney
For what you are looking for, I think Vidyard is the best way to go. Vimeo is more of a video warehouse whereas Vidyard provides that additional insight that you and your sales team are looking for. I know there are some other options like Loom that I hear good things about, but from someone who personally and whose team uses Vidyard almost every day, it's been a great tool for us.

Lindsey Schmidt   Zach Basner what other tools might you recommend?

Per the HubSpot question at the end,  Jessica Palmeri or  Joe Bachir would Vidyard/Vimeo/Other be able to do what  Alyssa O'Mara  is looking for?
Dear IMPACT Plus Team,

The Website is 99% done. Once it is completely done. I will put all my time and energy into my WHY project.

Since I will have to do this alone. I am looking for one person who wouldn't mind helping me refine it. See More
Connor DeLaney
Jimmy Beasley  appreciate the update. Can you share a link to your website in your original post so members can check it out for themselves as well as a bit of what you'd like members to focus on specifically in the refinement of your website? I know you connected with me on it briefly, however, I want to make sure I can tag some members in who can help in specific aspects of your website.
We have taken some production equipment and lights and set it up in the office to record our learning center content. I threw together a test video so we could look at how it looks and feels and sounds. Any feedback you guys have would be awesome!

Thank you!

Heck ya,  Phil Switzer ! Video quality looks AWESOME. Definitely take advantage of that pop-in, pop-out style with that second wide-shot camera. I know Alex Winter does that a lot for our team and it creates a really engaging experience.

The sound quality was a little echoey to me, do you have some sound absorbers for the walls, perhaps?

Megan Lang , Sami Ahmad , Lindsey Schmidt , what else did y'all notice and who else should we tag into the convo?
Dear iMPACT Team,

I finally just finished the work with my lead magnet, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in testing it out and providing the feedback. It will take a few minutes for the pdf to show up in inbox. See More

Jimmy Beasley this is awesome! That value message with the 3 bullet points is spot on. Couple of quick notes for feedback on this landing page:

- The header for the downloadable offer could be even more focused on what they get in the E-Book. Perhaps something like: "Don't make these 5 cybersecurity mistakes!"
- Simplify the list heading to - "You will learn:"
- You can use that subscribe button to reinforce the value of the E-Book!

I've always used dark mode in all my apps, email, google sheets etc. and it has rarely been an issue (although, I do use outlook's switch to turn on light mode in emails often).

But, I know Google Chrome has been rolling out dark mode for their browser to users (my fiance had it before me so I thought it might be user testing) and now with my update this morning, all the websites I visit are in dark mode and I honestly prefer it this way.

So my questions are:

I'm curious to know how many people use dark mode on their computer. Most of my friends do so I assumed it was a pretty widely adopted thing...but I'm the only person on my team at work that uses it as far as I know.

Do you think this will affect website design? I looked around on our... See More

Joe Rinaldi  I remember you wrote an article specifically about Dark mode and it's influence on web design, right? Would love to hear your thoughts here!

For me, I use Dark mode in almost everything except for Chrome, however, I do need to try it. I can't say I was avoiding it. Love this question!!
Interesting report out recently about Spotify's podcast revenue. Spotify has been gaining more and more market share in the podcast realm for years now — and it seems to be paying off: ad revenue jumped by 627% in Q2.

As listeners, subscribers, podcasters, and marketers, what's your take?
Are ads ruining podcasts?
Is marketing on podcasts something you're exploring?

Connor DeLaney , I know you're a podcast lover. How about you, Liz Moorehead and Stephanie Baiocchi ? See More

I will say that the main place I hear about products or tools that I am interested in is through podcasts actually  Lex Russell ! There's a level of trust and loyalty from podcast listeners that is super unique to TV or even paid ads because it's a much more personal medium. I've made several unnecessary but amazing purchases (cereal lol) I think it works in the right market!
Dear iMPACT Plus Team,

This is the second version of my bio video I just did just now. I know no one will laugh. But I am asking nicely again, please don't . As I am HOPING this is a major improvement from the first one.

I did create an outline for it and I realize it's a tad bit longer than the first one. I just don't want to spend forever redoing this over and over again. When I can edit and polish it up. See More

Jimmy Beasley  can you reshare the link? looks like there's an error with the current link.
Is the. greatest. thing. ever...

Thanks to this Hubspot report, I can show in exact dollar amounts how much revenue my blog posts and landing pages have generated.

For example, this year so far, via three blog posts and a pillar page I made, I have generated $76,114 for my company.

Being able to show revenue like this makes showing our management team the value of TAYA and content creation so much easier and more rewarding.

I highly suggest setting this report up on Hubspot if you have it.

Please note, you need to have the enterprise level of the software to generate this report.

That's awesome,  Nathan Dube !! We were just talking about attribution reporting in the HubSpot mastermind yesterday. Crazy numbers for just 4 pieces of content!
Carina Duffy shared this with our team this morning and it make some SO excited. The tool allows you to see the high level view of your workflow without having to scroll, swipe, and scan to get to the step you want.

According to Kyle Jepson's post linked above, this is being rolled out today for all HubSpot portals and you should start seeing it really soon. Definitely looking forward to seeing this in our portal later today.

If it's hit your portal, definitely send screenshots of some of your more complex workflows so we can see how awesome this new feature is! See More

WOW! Talk about a shift in industries. I know with They Ask, You Answer in place we preach taking work in-house but it's fascinating how quickly things have shifted over the last calendar year or so.

A couple of quotes that stood out to me (and Liz Moorehead ) -

“‘Albeit a small dip from 23.7% in 2020 to 23% in 2021, this continual change indicates significant in-housing activity, as CMOs reimagine the capabilities that can be supported by their internal teams,’ added [Ewan McIntyre, co-chief of research and vice president analyst in the Gartner for Marketers practice].

“CMOs report that 29% of work previously carried out by agencies has moved in-house in just the last 12-months alone. The focus of in-housing is changing as well –... See More

Jimmy Beasley good first run at this! A couple of things I noticed that I'd love to hear in an updated draft:

1. You started and own your own business, I'd love to know more about why this industry was something you were passionate about because at the end of the day, I want to learn more about what it may be like working with you. You mention your passions for helping others, dive into that and how you felt you could do more to support people in different industries.

2. At the end, I'd love to see something actionable like "I can't wait to chat with you soon". Doesn't have to be that specifically, but the idea being that they leave with a next step.

Lindsey Schmidt   Will Schultz   Marc Amigone   Alex Winter   Sami Ahmad   Nicole Willis what recommendations would you have from your different perspectives on what else Jimmy could do to update his Bio Video?
Dear iMPACT plus Team, sometime today I will be doing my first "RAW" Bio video. It will be my first and I will be nervous but I will do my best. But most of all, to be honest, I will be myself. Then if I feel if I need it needs to be edited I will edit. if not, I will upload it as a link to this main topic of discussion. See More

Definitely keep us posted when you have the video,  Jimmy Beasley ! We'd love to check it out :)
An Ugly Truth: Inside Facebook's Battle for Domination
I was introduced to this book by David Meerman Scott and the cover and title alone caught my attention almost immediately.

From what I've gathered in reading DMS's post on LinkedIn as well as the brief research I did on the title, it seems to go much further than what the platform is looking to do. Instead, it's from the accounts of members of the Facebook team on how the company stays ahead of governments, politicians, and businesses to go much further than just a social media platform.

I highly recommend you check out his original post on the book on LinkedIn from David: An Ugly Truth digs deep into the insider details behind the algorithm and other aspects of Facebook.

My favorite line from the post:

Should I spend more money to have someone come up with frequently asked questions for my business website or not? See More
Connor DeLaney
Hey  Jimmy Beasley I don't think it's worth investing money into coming up with FAQs. Instead, I would research competitors or commonly asked questions in your space of cybersecurity services for small-medium size businesses and non-profits. That should give you enough to get started then as you speak with more prospects they'll be able to help you learn more questions to ask!
