When analysing your HubSpot reports, you need to make sure the data is as accurate as possible...

So, for anyone who uses HubSpot's Wordpress plugin for tracking your HubSpot contacts' WordPress website activity, I previously noticed that HubSpot's tracking script still tracked the activity of my clients' employees when they were visiting the clients' own website.

That meant that myself and others had a lot of frontend page views appearing in the HubSpot reports because we’re visiting the website a lot and this is reducing the accuracy of the data in HubSpot reports.

It's not enough to rely on blocking traffic per IP in HubSpot's settings as depending on the setup of the organisation, it can be difficult to exclude everyone and challenging to keep up to date. So I asked the HubSpot plugin developers to consider adding the option to stop logged in administrators and editors from having their website activity tracked in HubSpot reports.

This feature is now live, so hopefully now our team members won't have 100s of page views skewing our data - but obviously your team will need to be logged in to your Wordpress website for this to work. Their data could still be tracked if your team members aren't logged into the website.

If you're using HubSpot cookie consent, your team members can also reject to stop being tracked on your WordPress website without being logged in.

Also, HubSpot allows the blocking of traffic per IP address which is good to use in addition to the above: knowledge.hubspot.com

Hope this helps others.
