Adversity cause some men to break, others to break records

Dear iMPACT Plus videographers, I don't want to lose my motivation but I don't know what else to do. Don't have the money to get better lighting or I never even done a script.  I don't have a problem taking off my hat, but with something as important as this, I prefer to do it right and that means getting cleaned up with a haircut.

What should I do? I don't want to lose my drive? My motivation?

Hey Jimmy. Don't sweat the small stuff. If your messages are important and valuable, people will watch your videos.

As far as your lighting, you can find really great sources of natural light all over the place. Just find a room or area with some big windows, and shoot during a time where it's nice and bright. Remember to face the windows, don't put the windows behind you.

There's a really great course on On Camera performance - https://app.impactplus.com/courses/mastering-on-camera-performance/course-overview-34/511 that could really help you out if you haven't seen it already.

Happy filming!

Devon McCarty  , I only have two windows in my bedroom and 3 three in the living and plus I live on the second floor. What should I do. then. If I could just find a solution to get $100 I would be all set but I am stuck again.

Every problem is an opportunity, Jimmy! Plus, experimentation is part of the process.

Try a setup in your bedroom sitting in front of your windows. Try another setup in the living room with more windows. Compare the shots and see which you like better.

If you still don't like that, Ring Lights are a super cheap lighting solution to get you started, and over time, you can obviously invest more in your lighting kit. - https://www.amazon.com/Selfie-Ring-Light-Tripod-Stand/dp/B07XHK3FRN/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ring+light&qid=1626956202&sr=8-3

You got this!

Hey  Jimmy Beasley  I'd definitely follow Devon's advice! Try setting up facing the windows in each room and record short clips. Then compare them and see which one you like best. The lighting may be different at different times of day. For instance, my office light is best before noon. Also, if you're worried about getting a haircut before you get your final video filmed then consider this time great rehearsal and practice time.

Hey  Stephanie Baiocchi  , I know these two questions are going to sound really stupid. Do you want to see what the windows look like and where they are positioned in both rooms? This next question is really stupid, can you provide a sample, of what you mean by standing in front of the window.

Hi Jimmy! Those are not stupid questions :) I don't think we need to see what the windows look like. I would just try recording a sample video in each spot. So maybe sit in your bedroom and record a short videos saying "Hi, I'm Jimmy" and then move to your living room and record another one. Then you can look at them both to see what you like better.

What I mean by in front of the window is to set record yourself facing the window like you're looking outside instead of having windows behind you. Kind of like this:

Stephanie Baiocchi  , I say and ask these things in a way that this who I am, the nicest and kindest person ever, rather or not if other people disagree.
