Hello IMPACT+ World!
Let’s get back to basics with a robust discussion about getting started with HubSpot.
Let’s get back to basics with a robust discussion about getting started with HubSpot.
How do you do it?
What are the benefits?
What are the drawbacks?
(And most importantly, what are some fun FREE resources to help business leaders decide if this is the right move for them.)
To kick things off I’m going to share a resource that I recently published: The ultimate HubSpot Marketing migration checklist (because if you’re going to make the switch, you should know what you’re getting into first!)
I’m also going to call out some fellow IMPACTers to kickstart this discussion (and throw kerosene on this comment thread!)
-
Carina Duffy
Lexie Ward
Joe Bachir — 3 members of MY TEAM (aka The IMPACT HubSquad), what are your best tips, tricks (and resources!) to quickly get up to speed. Go!
-
Eric Dunn
Jennifer Munoz ☒
Chris Marr — From a high-level digital sales and marketing strategy perspective, why would (or wouldn’t) you recommend HubSpot to your clients?
-
Morgan VanDerLeest — my go-to developer extraordinaire, what technical requirements should I be thinking about if I want to migrate my website?
-
Liz Murphy — my one true IMPACT+ Content Queen, can you track content ROI in HubSpot? And if so, what’s the best way to track and attribute blog performance once I move that sweet sweet content to HubSpot? (Because let’s face it, we both like content that makes $$)
AND to all of my non-IMPACT-ers following the discussion, any tips, tricks, success (or horror) stories you’d like to share?

HubSpot has projects (https://knowledge.hubspot.com/resources/how-to-use-the-hubspot-projects-tool) that can guide you through onboarding or getting started in a super easy to follow checklist sort of way. Something like the "Implementation - Onboarding Project Plan" which is a pre-built project offered by HubSpot even highlights various courses that would be great to take to catch you up on things like workflows and the email tool.
However, this is for someone who has already signed up for HubSpot.
I always recommend leaning heavily into HubSpot's free online resources. Their knowledge base has tons of in-depth articles that will walk you through nearly every part of HubSpot with step-by-step instructions and screenshots.
Another great place to start is HubSpot academy. There are tons of video courses and certifications on all things HubSpot and inbound marketing and sales. I recently updated this article that outlines key certifications and courses you should consider taking if you're on HubSpot! https://www.impactbnd.com/blog/guide-to-hubspot-certifications
