“Discovered – currently not indexed”

Our content manager discovered today that up to 30 pages of content she has created in our Learning Center has not been indexed by Google yet. In Search Console, it shows up as: “Discovered – currently not indexed”.

I've searched and can't find anything that fits our particular situation. This article has 7 solutions to fix this error, but none stand out as issues we have.

Has anyone encountered this before? If so, how did you fix it?

For reference, here's our Learning Center: https://www.a1concrete.com/concrete-repair-learning-center

Obviously, this is HUGE, so any advice is appreciated.

We clicked "Validate Fix" on the 30 pages, and today they show up as indexed. So, I guess that's the answer.

Dale Pease  I actually jumped the gun on this. They are still showing up as not indexed (I was looking at HTTP, not https.)

One other fast option is to pull the pages into the site map and go to G Analytics and have them recrawl the website.

David Castle I'll see about giving this a go. Thanks.

Dale Pease , have you checked out this article from Search Engine Journal on reasons your website may not be indexed properly in your research? It was actually just updated this morning, so as up to date as it gets.

I know this is something that's come up before for others.  Brian Casey Anj Bourgeois Christine Austin Kevin Church Franco Valentino - Can you provide further context as to what could've gone wrong here + action steps to take?

Sarah Etler Robert Rasnick  tagging you here as well so you both have visibility to the solution we come up with!

Connor DeLaney  I have gone through all 14 questions in this article, and I don't see any of them being an issue for us. As much as possible I tested each scenario they laid out and didn't come up with any problems as far as I can tell.

Dale Pease gotcha, sounds good. The other piece that  Melanie Moore sent my way this morning is that it takes Google a REALLY long time sometimes to catch up. So if errors are resolved and manually indexed as we mentioned it may just be a waiting game to get them caught up.

Dale Pease David Castle also sent over this info for you:

If it is a WordPress site make sure you are using the Post name aspect of the Permalinks and save it again in the Admin dashboard.

Once you are confident with that and you have the timing of the Google Crawler set to what makes sense for your average blog posting timing.

The Site Crawler will maintain all your new posts and pages in the sitemap with perfect regularity.

You might want to put the file of the sitemap into the footer of the site along with your legal pages, address, and what is pertinent to your company or brand.

Great share, David!
