I'm based in Chicago, IL 📍 (Join us in Chicago for the TAYA Summit in May!
Outside of work I enjoy picnics and live music 😊
Currently, my role is helping grow and engage all of you here in IMPACT+ and make this the best They Ask, You Answer resource it can be for you all! 📣
I'm sure you've heard of IMPACT haha 🖥️
I actually learned about They Ask, You Answer hearing Marcus speak at INBOUND back before it was even a book for fully named concept! 📘
2. What's something outside work that you enjoy? 😊
I love to garden and work in the yard. I love to watch birds and play with my cats. I'm also a classic movie fan.
3. What's your role and how's it going? Brag a little! 📣
I'm a freelancer/consultant (positioning/content) and I wish I had something to brag about.
4. Tell us a little about your company (no links please!) 🖥️
My company is just me but I work with friends when I need to (graphic designers, web developers, etc.)
I specialize in working with service businesses and the first third of my career was in HR so I'd love to transition into applicant/candidate experience and helping HR/Talent Acquisition departments use content to attract great applicants and support the applicant/candidate journey.
5. How did you learn about They Ask, You Answer and how's it going so far? 📘
I learned about TAYA by seeing Marcus on some Hubspot videos and wanting to know more about him and what he was talking about so I looked him up and found Impact. Honestly, it's going slowly (in terms of getting clients and work)
Hopefully we can help you speed things up and get you something to brag about!
My all-time favorite classic movie is one that arguably is THE best movie of all time or at least one of them.
Casablanca!!
And it was on last night so I watched it for the 9 squillionth time.
The thing that makes a classic a classic IMHO is the story.
No matter when you watch it, the greatest stories stand the test of time. There's something about them that speaks to you decades later.
That's so true for Casablanca.
It's good against evil. Standing up in the face of mounting aggression.
And of course the complicated love story at its heart.
Add in there the great performances...snappy dialogue (Claude Rains steals most of the scenes he's in)...beautiful costumes...and it even has great "making of" stories. Like most of the character actors who were employees at Rick's cafe were themselves refugees.
I've scene it twice on the big screen and its even more fabulous.
How about you? Do you have a genre you love? A particular movie that's your GOAT?
I will say... Im a huge fan of Rom Coms and Documentaries 🔥
And if someone asked me what my absolute favorite movie is.. I would say... I genuinely don't know. 🤣
My husband is NOT a classic movie fan but he loves Casablanca. The script is outstanding (if you like snarky sarcasm) and it's incredibly quotable.
I'm a documentary fan too. I'm a sucker for true crime. I'm a frustrated detective :-)
ALSO a fan of true crime documentaries as well 🥳
Outside of work I love to read and spend quality time with the family.📚
I first learned of TAYA after reading the book during onboarding. The lightbulbs just went off and it all just made sense.
I love the book because I had come to some similar conclusions and teach my clients what I call "pre-selling" with content.
Marcus articulates it so clearly and I love the focus of the 5 core questions.
Rock climbing sounds a little scary. Is that where you bang the hooks into the rocks like I've seen in movies?
OH HAAAAY AGAIN 😉
I would say I love lifting on my own but because of my background I also LOVE group fitness classes, I love Solid Core classes - they are absolutely amazing. Have you heard of Solid Core?
I grew up doing martial arts - I started teaching at 12 years old., I competed nationally, and I created a kickboxing program after that - so group fitness will always be something I LOVE because of my background 💖
Rock climbing is SUPER fun! Yes, there is lead climbing which is banging in the hooks and there is top roping, which is pre-setting your route.
I prefer to indoor climb (both lead climbing and top roping) but I have climbed outside.
OH MAN!!.,. YES! I have seen a bunch of those movies, free solo is NUTS and so is The Alpinist! Have you seen those?
I had a gym I loved back home in Jersey. It was fantastic and brand new so it was really fabulous.
I used to love bootcamp-style courses.
I also took some boxing-style classes too. They were super fun.
LOVE that you're a martial artist! I had a client who ran a studio with her hubs. Her 3 kids help out. The youngest is like a prodigy. He was a black belt at 10! I think he's the one who will take over the business at some point.
Rock climbing must be an incredible, full body workout.
I looked up The Alpinist and it's on Netflix so I'll add it to my queue to check out it sounds fascinating.
That's super cool! I guess we'll see who takes over the studio 🔥
If you watch The Alpinist, let me know what you think about it after watching it!
I recorded you a video back:
All those boxes are exactly why I switched to a kindle--I moved with a ton of books way too many times!
The most recent business-related book I read was actually for a course I finished a few weeks ago--we read Pre-suasion by Robert Cialdini and it was really good!
For fun, I usually lean toward horror or true-crime (same for movies and tv).
Feel free to pass along any recommendations, though, I'm open to anything!

We'd love to hear from you and learn a little more about you! 🥳 🙌🏻

What kind of dogs do you have?!
What a lovely story about your company! Very neat to hear how your grandfather started his company and what a HUGE accomplishment! I'm sure you're very proud to work for his company!
I remember when I first read the book, I had MANY moments where I was like... "WOW... THAT MAKES SENSE" 🤦🏻♀️
Happy to have you here and excited to see what you all accomplish with Brian and our team! 💯
I have a Havanese (used to have Yorkies prior to). I cannot get enough of dogs (I oftentimes relate to them more than I do people sometimes, ha).
And, yes, I completely can resonate with also having so many moments throughout reading this book where it just all of a sudden made so much darn sense! Opening my entire thought process to a whole new perspective!
My family used to breed Yorkies! I remember having to bottle-feed a couple of the pups, they were so tiny and cute!!!!
I will say... I can relate to dogs more than people sometimes too 🤣
I 100% agree, the book definitely opens your eyes to a completely different perspective! Just answer the questions people ask...💣💥🤯
Outside of work I enjoy photography and working on my "antique" Cub Cadet garden tractors.
I am president of Klover Products which my wife and I started in 2012. (I have also run a small engineering consulting company since 2004.)
Klover Products makes the parabolic microphones you see on the sidelines of football games or behind home plate at MLB baseball games. (It's the ultimate niche market but we think we may be the largest seller of parabolic mics in the world.)
A business coach suggested I read the book and the rest is history.
Thanks for the introduction!!! 🥳
Working on your "antique" Cub Cadet garden tractors sounds fun and challenging and seems to align with your engineering business!
The largest seller of parabolic mics in the world - sounds like a HUGE accomplishment, so CONGRATS on that 👏🏻🙌🏻
The book definitely gets you HOOKED - Glad to see you read it and SO thrilled to see you in the community!
Please reach out if you need any guidance or help with the IM+ platform! I would be happy to help! 🎉
Where are you based? 📍I am based in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu.
What's something outside work that you enjoy? 😊 I enjoy golfing when I can find the time, and the beach.
What's your role and how's it going? Brag a little! 📣 I am the owner of Softwash Hawaii. As a company who started in Feb22, we are still working to establish ourselves in the market. Challenges just keep coming, and we continue to find and implement solutions to be able to move forward.
Tell us a little about your company (no links please!) 🖥️ We are a Roof and Exterior Surface cleaning and preventive maintenance service provider. With plans on building a solid network of companies who are GREAT at solving challenges and problems in the residential and commercial property sector.
How did you learn about They Ask, You Answer and how's it going so far? 📘 A lot of in network company owner mentioned the book in our FB page. Started listening to it on audiable, and purchased the hard copy book immediately. You don't know, what you don't know... And then some... Game changer for me, with many pivots coming in the very near future.
